November Sunshine

I was going to write a post about November and the images it conjures up; log fires roaring in the grate, raking up the leaves in the garden as they tumble from the trees on blustery days, fireworks and bonfires, warming soups and other comfort foods to name but a few.

But here in south west France, temperatures are still reaching 22° and I feel more like having a salad than a bowl of soup! The wood is sitting idle in the garden, the leaves are still clinging on the trees in all their russet glory and people are still wearing t-shirts. It is still a joy to be outdoors, walking in the countryside or working in the garden.

When I am able to take photos like these, it is hard to believe that there are only 46 days left until Christmas.

What is the weather like where you are?

New Beginnings

There is nothing like the prospect of buying a new house to get the creative juices flowing. This is exactly where I am at right now and I find myself whiling away hours trawling blogs, magazines, Pinterest and catalogues to inspire me (not that I need any such excuse). I am creating boards just to fit the pins I like.

I have one month left until we move by which time my tear sheets will have taken over my desk and my daily pin activity will have increased a hundredfold.

On top of the move I have also started this blog in which I hope to inspire you with photos, thoughts and inspiration regarding interiors, food , travel and France.

I will of course have to ban myself from the internet in order to finish all the sorting and packing that is involved when you move two homes into one. But just for now I will allow myself to indulge a little after all the months of waiting to get to this point….surely that is ok…isn’t it?
